MODULES
The five modules in the MyGrant platform combine pre- and post-award tasks, and support the grant managers’ work throughout the entire grant cycle.
Fundraising – Customize your fundraising and create a strategy. More than 15,000 Danish foundations and grants provides financial support for a wide range of purposes. Similarly, a large number of international funding programs may be relevant to the Danish applicants. However, only a small fraction of all these funding opportunities are of interest to the individual applicant or organization. MyGrant’s fundraising module helps to customize the fundraising to exactly these relevant opportunities, and to plan applications and future strategies. Be inspired from the commercial funding databases, combine with your own experiences and build a personal funding database that fits exactly your and your organization’s needs; always remember to check the foundations’ websites for updates on funding opportunities and deadlines.
Applications – Track the application process and get your success rates. All applications submitted to the foundations can be registered in MyGrant’s Applications module. You can register an application to a specific project and track the amount of funding recieved for that project. Follow up on the submitted applications by clicking rejected or granted. Granted applications will automatically be transfered, including the applied budget, to the Grant Management module. With MyGrant’s statistics functionality, you can easily calculate success rates for a given project, an applicant, a business unit or a subunit, a foundation, a foundation type, or a budget year.
Grant Management – Manage your grants and resources. Every grant requires administration, however, the management is different for smal travel grants and large internatioal multi-partner grants. Usually many things need to be planned and coordinated during a grant period. In MyGrant’s grant portfolio you can store all information about your grants; you can see budgets and continuously make budget adjustments, you can allocate resources and see if unallocated resources are available, and you can get a fantastic year by year overview of the planned salary costs for your employees. Especially for organizations with high external funding, it is really important to be able to plan and easily generate an overview of which employees will be paid from which grants. It may be a rather complex mosaic if the employees are going to be paid across multiple grants – possibly also managed by different institutions.
Accounting – Control your grant budgets and expenses. Grants are usually awarded for a specific purpose or project. The grant holder is responsible for using the awarded funds accordingly. It is therefore important that the grant holder is able to easily get an overview of spending on the grants and to keep track of available funds compared with the planned budgets. In MyGrant’s Accounting module you can keep track of all your expenses, payments from the foundations as well as payments to project partners. You can enter transactions manually or import from Excel. You can generate a lot of status views showing important financial key figures. The Accounting module also includes a feature for employee time tracking; this may be useful for e.g. EU grants and external audit.
Timely – Get organized and be on time. If you say external funding, you must also say deadlines – a lot of deadlines – both pre- and post-award. Keeping track of all deadlines can be difficult and quite chaotic. Large-scale planning and organizing is necessary to accomplish all tasks and be on time. MyGrant’s Timely module collects deadlines from all other modules; it could be application deadlines, deadlines for scientific reports, annual accounts, payment requests and expiry of employments. The list of deadlines give you an amazing overview with a smart red-yellow-green notification system prior to a given deadline. You no longer need to keep in mind all your deadlines or register in various calendars – the Timely module is your new daily time manager and you will always have control over tasks and upcoming deadlines.
